Description
Air layered annar plants..Best for home gardening…
Grow healthy and productive pomegranate plants with our carefully prepared air-layered pomegranate plants, suitable for farmers, orchards, home gardens, and commercial cultivation.
Air layering is a vegetative propagation method in which a healthy branch is encouraged to develop roots while still attached to the mother plant. Once a strong root system develops, the rooted branch is carefully separated and planted as an independent plant.
Our air-layered plants are prepared with care to support healthy establishment and vigorous growth after planting.
How to Plant Air-Layered Pomegranate Plants
Proper planting and after-care are important for successful establishment.
Step 1 – Select the Location
Choose a location with:
Good sunlight
Good drainage
No standing water
Adequate space for plant growth
Pomegranate plants perform best when they receive sufficient sunlight and are planted in well-drained soil.
Step 2 – Prepare the Planting Pit
Prepare a suitable planting pit according to your soil type and cultivation system.
Mix the excavated soil with well-decomposed organic manure/compost and suitable soil amendments based on your soil condition.
Avoid using fresh manure directly around the roots.
Step 3 – Carefully Open the Root Ball
Our air-layered plants are supplied with the root ball protected with packing material.
Carefully remove the packing material without damaging the roots.
If the root ball is tightly packed, handle it gently and avoid breaking the root structure unnecessarily.
Step 4 – Plant at the Correct Depth
Place the rooted plant in the centre of the pit.
Keep the root ball at approximately the same level at which the plant was growing previously.
Do not bury the stem or root collar too deeply.
Fill the remaining space with prepared soil and gently press the soil around the root zone.
Step 5 – Water Immediately
After planting, give the plant sufficient water to settle the soil around the roots.
Afterward, maintain moisture according to the soil, weather, and drainage conditions.
Do not allow water to remain stagnant around the root zone.
Step 6 – Initial Shade and Acclimatization
Freshly planted air-layered plants need time to adjust after transportation and planting.
Keep newly planted plants in shade for approximately 15–20 days and protect them from direct, harsh sunlight during the initial establishment period.
Gradually expose the plant to normal sunlight as it establishes.
Step 7 – Early Plant Care
During the establishment period:
Monitor soil moisture regularly.
Avoid overwatering.
Keep weeds away from the plant.
Protect new growth from pests and diseases.
Ation immediately after planting.
Once the plant establishes, follow a suitable nutrient and irrigation schedule.
